A Christmas Wreath on the door: what could be more Christmassy? Charles Dickens certainly thought so: a Christmas wreath adorns the original cover of his immortal ‘A Christmas Carol’.
Displaying Christmas wreaths made from evergreen twigs and red berries at this season is a custom that can be traced back several hundred years – a survival perhaps, from pagan days. It’s a symbol of hospitality and looks forward to the return of Spring.
If you haven’t the patience or skill to make your own here’s a selection of some we’d recommend.
