STEP ONE
Start with a simple terracotta pot as your foundation. Its neutral tone ensures it won't compete with your centrepiece, and it gives you the flexibility to choose any colour scheme. The earthy feel of the pot also creates a natural, woodland look. To further enhance the woodland vibe, we layered in some moss to add texture, provide a bed for your decorations, and reflect the forest floor.
STEP TWO
Begin by placing your decorations into the pot, starting from the outer edges and working inward. This helps you bulk out the sides before filling in any gaps in the centre. We recommend starting with your larger decorations first, ensuring they fit well within the base. Once the bigger pieces are in place, you can fill in any gaps with smaller accents to achieve a full, cohesive design.
STEP THREE
Continue adding decorations until you're satisfied with the overall look of your display, and when most of the base is covered. We chose to include toadstools of varying heights and colours to create a striking whimsical woodland scene. To bring a festive touch, we added a toadstool with a hint of sparkle.
STEP FOUR
Once your display is nearly complete, start incorporating ornaments to add more depth, colour and texture. To stay true to the outdoor woodland theme, we've chosen to include natural elements like pinecones and walnuts. These additions will enhance your centrepiece's rustic charm, whilst adding subtle Christmas touches.
STEP FIVE
Finally, pick the perfect finishing touches for your centrepiece. Perhaps you might choose to add picks and soft fairy lights for a warm, inviting glow. We decided to add some berry picks for an extra pop of colour and charm.
