Gisela Graham’s 2013 Easter/Spring range, unveiled at July’s Harrogate Home & Gift Fair, notched up even better sales than at last year’s Fair: once again she shows why she’s UK market leader in this small but growing market.
The four themed collections we’re offering span a broad spectrum of tastes and age groups. Bright Easter in bold primaries is aimed at children with traditional iconography of chicks and rabbits.
We expect Spring Patchwork to win hearts with its bold, fresh, retro look: red, turquoise and yellow lead the colour palette. Styles are recklessly blended in a riot of gingham, polka dots, flowers and buttons. These sweet and startlingly original hanging decorations are things that people will want to keep as heirlooms: hearts, birds, mini-birdhouses and Gisela Graham’s signature fairies with matching fabric frocks.
Pastel-toned Easter Treats shows Gisela was in a more modern frame of mind. The look is simple – naive patterns of dots enlivened with hearts and stylised flowers – but there’s a surprise. We’ve invented Easter ‘cookies’ shaped as eggs, hearts, rabbits and chicks, made of terracotta with an ‘icing’ of raised, coloured glaze. The patterns appear also on hen-shaped ceramic eggcups, egg-cosies and lots more. Easter Treats will surely be snapped up when they hit the shops.
Country Style is our latest adventure in this timeless traditional genre. This year there’s a stencilled look with flowers and leaves. Colours are muted greys, pinks, light blue and ochre, with an accent of a dusty red. As ever Gisela is generous with the variety of decorations. The motifs are rendered as screen-prints on metal, wood and fabric, and are especially appealingly, as appliques on felt birds, hens and eggs.
Gisela Graham Easter ranges will be in the shops from the end of January. For Stockist Information please call – 020 7708 6396.
