Helping to ‘Save the Honey Bee’

Helping to ‘Save the Honey Bee’
February 3, 2016 Gisela Graham Team

A bee disease threatens Europe’s fruit and vegetable crops: Gisela Graham will be donating profits from her pretty ‘Kitchen Garden’ range towards finding a cure to save the honey bee.

Save the Honey Bee - Kitchen Garden

Save the Honey Bee | Gisela Graham’s Kitchen Garden collection

Without the honey bee’s useful work in pollination many fruits and vegetables just wouldn’t grow. Now bees are under threat, across Europe and North America from a killer mite called Varroa. A major international programme of research is under way, to find the answer to this plague. The Save the Honey Bee project is run under the auspices of the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA). Gisela Graham is contributing to this vital work by donating some of the profits from her pretty “Kitchen Garden” range. The designs feature flowers and fruit and the bee that brings them to maturity. You are invited to make your own direct contribution to the research through a leaflet campaign at retailers where Gisela Graham’s products are on sale.

About BBKA

The British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) was founded in 1874 and is the UK’s leading organisation in its field. Its aim is to promote and further the craft of bee-keeping and to educate the public on the importance of bees in our daily lives. The BBKA is running a national campaign under the banner of “Friends Of The Honey Bee” to raise awareness of the threat to our honey bees, and to help fund an international programme of research to find a solution.
