As The Great British Bake Off returns to our screens, what better way to prepare than to get baking with Gisela Graham’s kitchen collections. Produce some tasty treats with her Sorbet Kitchen ranges, with everything from cookie cutters, cake tins and sugar shakers to get your cakes baked to perfection and make way for a new star baker!
Gisela Graham’s Heart Shaped Cookies
250g butter, softened
300g plain flour
140g caster sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 170 C/ Gas mark 3 and lightly grease a baking tray. Mix together the softened butter with the caster sugar in a large bowl. Add the egg yolk and the vanilla extract and beat to combine. Sift in the flour and stir well until the mixture is combined. Once it is in a dough like consistency, roll out on to a floured surface until it is about 6mm thick. Using heart shaped cookie cutters, cut out your cookies and transfer them to the baking tray. Cook for 12 minutes. Once cooked, transfer to a wire rack to cool. To serve, either decorate with icing or simply sprinkle with icing sugar!
